MRC GOLF, INC. Debuts the Fubuki Z and ZT-Series
Carlsbad, CA - (March 1, 2014) - MRC GOLF, INC. has officially introduced the FUBUKI™ Z-Series shafts - FUBUKI™ ZT-Series and FUBUKI™ Z-Series - that complement the current FUBUKI™ α-Series and FUBUKI™ K-Series profiles while increasing the FUBUKI™ product line's overall versatility.
Based on the highly successful FUBUKI™ α-Series profile, the FUBUKI™ Z-Series shafts incorporate third-generation third-generation Modulus Differential Technology - an advancement from the current FUBUKI™ Modulus Differential Technology application. It now delivers optimal performance - regardless of the shaft's weight and flex. By varying the application, length and location of Modulus Differential Technology n this new series, we've developed shafts with a smooth and consistent bend profile throughout the swing.
Modulus Differential Technology was a major advance in shaft tip design, beginning with the original FUBUKI™ Tour profile in 2009. It allowed us to take materials with different fiber strengths and performance characteristics and use them in concert like never before at specific locations and patterns in the tip section, to create unique launch and spin characteristics for the most demanding players.
FUBUKI™ ZT-Series Profile
The ZT-Series profile was inspired by the highly successful FUBUKI™ α-Series and designed with the better player in mind. This new profile has a stiffer mid-section than the FUBUKI™ α-Series, with lower launch and spin. Yet it still launches higher than the FUBUKI™ K-Series. The ZT-Series profile includes heavier weights, low torque, and a higher balance point that's optimal for adjustable clubheads. Raising the balance point creates the potential for lighter swing weights, increased clubhead speed and more distance. The shaft also features 40-ton carbon fiber material, for outstanding impact stability.
FUBUKI™ Z Profile
The Z-Series features a similar bend profile to deliver the same stability in the mid- and butt sections as the ZT-Series, but with a tip that promotes a higher launch while maintaining low spin. The Z-Series also features progressive torque and a more standard balance point - making it a versatile shaft designed to fit a wide range of players and abilities. The standard balance point also makes it easier to achieve traditional swing weight targets, even with a lightweight profile.
There's also a new FUBUKI™ Z-Series fairway wood-specific shaft that complements the FUBUKI™ Z-Series wood shaft. The FUBUKI™ Z-Series Fairway features the same progressive torque and Modulus Differential Technology found in the FUBUKI™ Z-Series, creating a fairway wood shaft that fits a wide range of players and abilities.

FUBUKI™ means "white out" or "blizzard" in Japanese, so the use of white was central to the graphic approach. The signature graphic element - the "throwing star" associated with traditional weaponry of the Japanese Ninja - has been stylized to also represent a snowflake. In Japanese, "buki" means "weapon."
