MRC GOLF, INC. Debuts the Second Generation KURO KAGE™ Black With A Higher Balance Point

Carlsbad, CA - (March 1, 2014) - MRC GOLF, INC. has officially introduced the second-generation KURO KAGE™ Black shaft with a high balance point. Building on the success of the original KURO KAGE™ Black profile that debuted two years ago, this new shaft features the same technically advanced High Density Prepreg with up to 15 percent more carbon fiber and significantly less resin (20 vs. 33 percent) than standard prepreg. Fewer gaps and voids in the prepreg creates more consistent performance, increased stability and a better feel at impact with less harshness.

Raising the balance point ultimately translates to more distance and better feel. Like the original KURO KAGE™ Black, the second-generation KURO KAGE™ Black features a smooth bend profile with a softer mid-section balanced by slightly stiffer tip and butt sections. Our High Density Prepreg continues to be used in the lower third of the shaft, for enhanced feel, stability and strength. The new higher balance point changes weight distribution, which boosts swing speed.

The shaft walls are slightly thicker towards the butt end, which raises the balance point. This creates a lighter swingweight that leads to increased clubhead speed and distance, and also creates a better feel. We've also raised the balance point without altering the shaft length.
