MRC GOLF, INC. Extends KURO KAGE™ Low Balance Irons Shaft Line with New Weight Options

Carlsbad, CA - (April 28, 2014) - MRC GOLF, INC. introduces 85- and 105-gram models of the KURO KAGE™ Low Balance Irons shaft that debuted at the 2014 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando. These new weights complement the original 65-gram model. The KURO KAGE™ Low Balance Irons shafts blend High Density Prepreg and a smooth bend profile with a lower balance point, all in a premium constant weight iron product. This provides better swing weight without added clubhead weight, in a stable, good-feeling shaft.

Building on the success of the KURO KAGE™ franchise, the KURO KAGE™ Low Balance Irons shafts were developed to complement the second generation of KURO KAGE™ wood and hybrid shafts, by offering a variety of weights and flexes in a constant weight, designated-length iron shaft. While the standard and popular 42-inch KURO KAGE™ iron shaft that debuted in 2011 is cut to fit, the KURO KAGE™ Low Balance Irons shafts have a taper tip, constant weight and offer better overall performance at a premium price. They optimize ball flight for each weight and flex, by reducing the torque and raising the kick point as the weights increase and flexes become stronger. That is, in the 65-gram model, the kick point is low; in the 85-gram, it's mid; and in the 105-gram, it's mid-high.

Our team of engineers created the High Density Prepreg, which is a prepreg material with 15% more carbon fiber and much less resin (20% vs. 33%) than found in most shaft prepreg. By changing the proportions of fiber to resin, and by using High Density Prepreg at specific points along the shaft, we're able to add strength - while at the same time increasing feel - like never before. The result is a potent combination of power and responsiveness.
